Mt Lilydale College Vs Aquinas College
Date: Wednesday 31st of October 2001
Location: Lilydale Skating Rink

This game was excellent with extremely even teams and a great line up of players. Mt Lilydale’s Captain and State player Jason Cocks was matched up against Aquinas’ Captain and State player Keith Bullock. The two captains led their teams almost neck to neck in the first two periods, however Reece Ireland from Aquinas took the honor of scoring the first goal with a great assist from Keith Bullock. Mt Lilydale took more shots on goal in the first two periods however just not being able to break through Aquinas great defense. With Aquinas only having half as much possession of the puck in the first two periods it was some great team work by Keith Bullock, John Morissy and Reece Ireland that led to their success. In the third period Mt Lilydale’s Adrian Notaro and Shane Barrington both received minor penalties and gave Aquinas the upper hand. At the end of the third period John Collins Mt Lilydale’s Goalie had to leave and that’s when Aquinas took advantage of Mt Lilydale no longer having a goalie scoring three goals within two minutes. Overall the game was played extremely well with only five players who play competitively leading the other 10 players who had never played before. With such a great game it should be good to see these two schools clash once again on December 7th at the Puckhandlers School Inline Hockey Tournament.
Final Score – Aquinas 12 Vs Mt Lilydale 9

Mt Lilydale College Vs Oxley College
Date: Wednesday 31st of July 2001
Location: Lilydale Skating Rink

Within two minutes of starting Luke Vivash from Oxley College had scored the first goal. That woke Mt Lilydale up as they did not want to loose, Mt Lilydale scored another two goals in the first period before letting Oxley score again.
In the 2nd period Mt Lilydale with some excellent skill and leadership from Jason Cocks was able to score 6 goals while with Michael Healy's great defensive skills stopped Oxley from score for the entire period.
In the last period Mt Lilydale scored 4 and Douglas Sanders from Oxley scored one more, scoring the last goal for the game. A superb effort from Brenton Van Gamereng Mt Lilydale's goalie as it was his first time ever playing and he only let 3 get by him. Also Scott Manning Bayswater Lion's C Grade Goalie performed well jumping in goals for Oxley saving 45 out of the 59 shots we had on him, some were great saves.
I believe it was Mt Lilydale superior knowledge of the game and team work that led to their victory. Oxley however played a great game going up against Inline State Player Jason Cocks and Ice Hockey State Player John Collins. With some great assists from Jason Cocks and Michael Healy I was able to get a few good goals in myself.

Final Score: Mt Lilydale - 14 Oxley College - 3
